Free Artists Talk in Greyfriars Municipal Gallery

Julie Merriman Housing Area 1Greyfriars Municipal art Gallery is delighted to announce that on Saturday 9 April at 12noon the award-winning  Dublin-based visual artist Julie Merriman will be in Greyfriars Gallery to talk about her work currently on show in Greyfriars as part of “30 Years / Artists / Places”, a touring exhibition marking 30 years of Local Authorities supporting visual arts in Ireland.

Julie Merriman has received awards and has participated in residencies in Ireland and the U.K.  Her work is in the National Drawing Collection, Limerick, The Arts Council of Ireland, and other public and private collections. Julie will speak about the creative process behind her drawing “Housing Area 1, 2013” which was created as part of her commission Revisions for the Dublin City Public Art  Programme.  This fascinating talk is a free event and all are welcome!
