Reopening of the Applemarket, Waterford – Changes in Traffic Flow

FROM MONDAY 24TH JULY 2017
(Waterford City Centre Urban Renewal Scheme Part VIII 08/15)

The Applemarket will be officially opened to the public on Friday 21st July and will be reopened to traffic from Monday 24th July.   From Monday the following traffic flow changes will come into operation:

  • Stephen Street – traffic flow will be one way southbound only from its junction at Patrick Street to its junction with Newgate Street.
  • New Street  – traffic flow will be one way westbound from its junction with the Apple Market to its junction with Johns Lane/New Street.
  • Patrick Street – traffic flow will be one way eastbound from its junction with Mayor’s Walk to its junction with Stephen Street.

A map detailing these traffic changes is included below.

    It would have been helpful to put an indication, on your drawings on the new traffic plan, for north, south, east and west.

    My understanding was that the Taxis would be allowed go through Stephen Street Newgate Street or Browns Lane all other traffic would go to Browns Lane I have documentation that says that when we agreed with the council to move from the Apple Market . This is also the first we were told about the changes didn’t get enough time to inform our members about the changes
