Weather / Service Update: 2:30pm

Following the latest meeting of our Crisis Management Team, the following advisory has been issued by Chief Executive, Michael Walsh.

Sad news has reached us of the earlier road fatality in the Aglish area as a consequence of a falling tree.

The definitive advice from Chief Superintendant, Padraig Dunne of the Gardai is to stay off the roads over the next five to six hours. Waterford City and County Council advise that no journeys should be undertaken today where at all avoidable.

Widespread falling trees are becoming evident and cleanup will only be possible later tonight and early tomorrow morning. All roads should be treated as unsafe until daylight on Tuesday morning. The Council will strive to ensure access for Emergency Services at all times and are in liaison with the Gardai and HSE in this respect.
