Mayor of Waterford City and County Cllr Joe Kelly and 42 “Friends of Waterford Treasures” recently travelled to Norway for their annual trip where they bore witness to the twinning of Waterford and the city of Tønsberg, Norway.

Both Waterford and Tønsberg are the oldest cities of their respective nations, making this twinning ceremony particularly fitting. Pictured also is Mayor Pedersen of Tønsberg and officials of Tønsberg Council. To mark the occasion, they signed scrolls in English & Norwegian made by Ireland’s national calligrapher Tim O’Neill.

Mayor Kelly presented an inscribed Waterford Crystal vase to Mayor Pederson.
