Phase 3 of the construction works at Farronshoneen Roundabout are due to commence on Thursday, November 16th and continue for 5 working days until Wednesday, November 22nd.
The works will entail the reconstruction of the east bound lane of the Outer Ring Road coming off the roundabout (i.e. between Farronshoneen Roundabout and Waterford University Hospital).
During this stage all routes will remain open to traffic, however Stop / Go controls will be in place on all four legs of the roundabout for the duration, resulting in some delays to traffic in the area.
Waterford City and County Council apologies for inconvenience caused.
A bit of a nuisance but I’m sure the end result will be worth it all
Can it not be done at nighttime in order to speed up the work? Traffic is unreal there during the day and I never see any workers actually doing anytime I pass?
Over 45 minutes from Reginald’s Tower to Ballygunner (evening of 16th) is not “some delays to traffic”, it is a major gridlock issue, with attendant pollution and thousands of people made late. Better traffic management is essential for the good of the City.
This work should be done at night time. The traffic is ridiculous. Plus you shouldn’t be updating people with information about different phases the night before hand. There’s no map alerter information going out about this and there isn’t an over all map of the different phases that we can expect on this on going traffic nightmare.
How many phases is there ?
Great idea to do such big road works during Halloween and bf X mass.
It’s a joke out there this morning. Took 30 mins at 8am to get from Williamstown Village to the roundabout at the bottom of the road. Could they not have waited until after 9am to put the stop go system in operation this morning!
